Downhill running

The pain of going up and up

Is more than worth it for the

Exhilaration of coming down,

As fast as you can, taking,

Chances as you look for that

Elusive foothold, hoping you

Stay on two feet, leaping over

Jutting rocks, moving this way

And that as you go faster than

You thought you could until you

Reach the bottom and aching

Limbs replace adrenaline, sweat

Pours out, lungs take in vast

Amounts of oxygen and you

Slowly come back down from

The high of the moors and

The adrenaline rush
