she gazes into the water
as it whirls around and around
transfixed by the swirling motion
she picks up her grandmothers
delicate victorian glass bottle
and carefully dips it
into the crystal clear water
and watches in amazement
as the dirt and grime
is washed away
the image of a young girl
appears in the clean glass
smiles back at her
and says
i love you, my grand daughter
