Like a drug, I need my regular fix. I can’t stay away for too long, it’s an addiction that needs feeding. Thankfully my problem is easily cured – a trip to the Lake District is my only salvation.
The mountains are calling and I must go.
My love affair with the Lake District began 12 years ago. I’d been persuaded by a friend to join him for a weekend break in Keswick. It was my first experience of walking the fells and at the time I’d no idea what to expect. Little did I know that this would prove to be a life-changing experience.
