The diary of an inconsequential person – 40

Sunday, 30 July 2023

I had thought about going for a run today but decided against it for reasons unknown. Instead, I did some weights in my front room and went to the club for dominoes and a laugh. Today, my partner and I played well, and I was £1.50 up when I left, not much in the great scheme of things but a sign of how well we played today, and I was happy with that. People were asking me when I would be drinking alcohol again. I told them about my hip and how alcohol inflames it, but right now it’s never. Why would I want to drink again when life is so much better without alcohol? Home and I read some of the book I’m currently reading, In Search of the North by Stuart Maconie, a truthful and honest account of life in the North although he does seem to be going on about Liverpool a bit! The rest of the evening I spent watching TV before going to bed around 9pm and listening to a new radio station I’ve found on the app VR.
