The diary of an inconsequential person – 37

Thursday, 27 July 2023

I suppose today was a day I should have stayed at home, rested, and done some uni work. I didn’t though. I knew today would be my last chance to get a recce in of the Crow Hill Reverse fell race, tomorrow I need to go to the club and catch up with friends and at the weekend I don’t really go anywhere so it was today or never. I parked halfway up the route on Heights Road not far from Hebden Bridge Golf Club and made the run up to Crow Hill and back before heading down to Mytholmroyd and back to Heights Road. The run was good, and I was glad I went out. My hip is feeling better every time I run, and my confidence is coming back. My pace is improving too, ever so slightly but enough to make a difference, I’m even starting to run up some of the hills now and I’m using my poles less and less. Home and I had a bath which was exactly what I needed. After an hour soaking I get up and set about catching up on so much stuff I wanted to clear before I started my uni work, so another day of no uni work but now three days where I can get a lot done and I will too!
