it started with a train of thought
inspired by the overheard twitterings
of two drunks in the park
who in a rare moment of calm
when finishing their special brew
and starting on white lightening cider
declared that they preferred t
to see in the new year sober
on the premise that
for the rest of the year
they where drunk
whilst the world was sober
and not wanting to conform
to the hedonistic practices
of one night in the year
they preferred to do their own thing
because even though
they were drunks they still
had freedom of thought
possibly even more so than
you or i ever will…
